Release notes

What each version contains and what changed in behaviour. The packages on nuget.org carry the same notes; the repository carries the full history.

0.1.0-preview.1

The first public preview. The API still moves, and breaking changes are expected between preview versions. It is not recommended for production systems yet.

The WinForms host (ArionUI.Rendering.WinForms) is in the repository and not packaged.

Requirements

  • .NET 10: net10.0, the WPF host net10.0-windows, the WinForms host net10.0-windows10.0.19041.
  • Avalonia 12.1.0 for the Avalonia host. SkiaSharp 3.119.4 and HarfBuzzSharp 8.3.1.5 underneath; Vortice.Direct3D11 and Vortice.Direct3D9 3.8.3 for the WPF host.

What is in it

  • One engine and renderer for Avalonia, WPF and WinForms; GPU drawing by default with an automatic CPU path on Avalonia.
  • Views: table, card board, tree, board of tiles — and with Pro: pivot, charts, 3D charts, timeline, planning matrix.
  • Columns: text, typed number, date and enum, badge, tag, button, checkbox, composed cells, micro-charts, banded headers, master-detail, tree columns, columns generated from a type.
  • Data: list, observable, keyed upsert, ring buffer, paged virtual and server-side sources.
  • Sorting with multiple levels and a sort culture; filter row with typed operators; value filters; search with highlighting; a quick-search palette.
  • Editing with drawn editors, masks, validators, an edit policy, undo and redo, paste, fill-down and a commit pipeline.
  • The consumer facade grid.Api, bindable properties and ICommand inputs on all hosts.
  • UI Automation on all three hosts, tested with Narrator and NVDA; high-contrast themes followed automatically; reduced motion.
  • Seven built-in themes; per-grid texts, icons and cultures.
  • Pro: grouping, pivot with field list and drill-down, conditional formatting with a rule manager, layout persistence, CSV, XLSX and PDF export.

3,312 automated tests in five suites were green in the repository's gate on 3 October 2026.

Behaviour to know

These notes travel in the ArionUI.Core package. They concern code built against earlier, unpublished builds and defaults that a first-time user meets:

  • The guide of a sparkline follows the pointer by default: Column.Sparkline and Cell.Sparkline default to interpolate: true. Pass interpolate: false to snap to the points.
  • SparklineEl.Curve has a set accessor instead of init, because the user switches it from the menu.
  • IGridViewOps has two new members, LineCurveOf and SetLineCurve; an own implementation has to add them.
  • ArionIcons.CheckBox takes five arguments; the accent colour comes last. Pass Palette.Accent for the theme's colour.
  • The 3D texts are a per-grid catalogue (Scene3DTexts) and German by default; Scene3DUiText.English() switches them.

Known limitations

No touch gestures beyond one finger, no mirrored right-to-left layout, no IME pre-edit in the cell, the WinForms host not packaged, and gaps in screen-reader support on Avalonia. The full list is on What it does not do yet.
