Pro modules
Nine NuGet packages that each add one capability to the open engine. Each joins a grid with one call or by constructing its view; without it the grid shows no half-working controls for it.
Every Pro package with a prerelease version number — such as 0.1.0-preview.1 — may be used free of charge, also in commercial software, in any number of installations. It needs no licence key and draws no watermark. The source of the Pro packages is not public; the engine they build on is open under Apache-2.0.
The packages
| Package | Adds — and how it joins |
|---|---|
ArionUI.Grouping | Group rows, the group band, group subtotals. view.EnableGrouping() |
ArionUI.Pivot | Pivot view with collapsible axes, a field list and drill-down. new PivotView(…) |
ArionUI.Charts | Chart views, and charts from a grid selection. new ChartView(model), grid.Api.EnableChartMenu(…) |
ArionUI.Charts3D | Surface, waterfall and point-cloud views on the GPU (marked preview). new Surface3DView(model) |
ArionUI.Timeline | Resources and activity bars on a time ruler. new TimelineView<TResource, TActivity>(…) |
ArionUI.Planning | Time-axis columns with editable measures and roll-ups. new PlanningBuilder<T>()…Build() |
ArionUI.Formatting | User-editable rules, data bars, colour scales, icon sets. view.Formatting().EnableFormattingMenus(grid.Api, view) |
ArionUI.Layout | Save and restore columns, sorting, grouping, filters and rules. grid.Api.CaptureLayout(view) |
ArionUI.Export | CSV, XLSX and PDF of the current view; pages for printing. view.ExportXlsxToFile(path) |
dotnet add package ArionUI.Grouping --prereleaseEach needs the engine packages and, for its views, a host package. Some bring others along: ArionUI.Pivot depends on ArionUI.Grouping, ArionUI.Charts on ArionUI.Timeline (for time axes), ArionUI.Timeline on ArionUI.Planning, and ArionUI.Layout on ArionUI.Formatting and ArionUI.Planning, whose state it saves. A dependency that is only installed is not switched on.
The preview licence in short
The licence text, LICENSE-PRO.md, travels in every Pro package. Its main points:
- You may use the packages to develop, test and run your own software, privately or commercially, and ship the Pro assemblies as part of your application.
- You may not distribute the Pro assemblies on their own or bundle them into a component library or tool that competes with ArionUI; a library of yours that references them through NuGet is fine. No decompiling beyond what the law allows; debugging with the shipped symbol files is allowed.
- Preview status. The API and behaviour may change in any later version, and the preview is not recommended for production systems yet.
- Later versions. A first version without a prerelease suffix may come under different terms, including paid ones. A preview version you have obtained stays usable under the preview licence, including shipping it in your application.
Keys and the watermark
Release versions — not the preview — will check a soft offline licence key. Nothing phones home. Without a valid key the grid keeps working, and once a Pro module has been switched on, every grid in the process stamps a watermark on its frames until a key covering that module is applied.
ArionLicenseState state = ArionLicense.Apply(key); // never throws; returns Valid, Invalid, Expired or None
bool watermark = ArionLicense.WatermarkRequired; In a preview build no key is needed. Applying one anyway has consequences: an applied key, even a malformed or expired one, is judged by the normal rules, so a mistake in a key shows as a watermark in the preview too. If you see a watermark in a preview build, look for an ArionLicense.Apply call. The terms for release versions are not final.
